I had heard something once that went along the lines of every day is a new beginning. I'm going to do my best to work that into my other philosophies of life in general and start out each day as if it were a new beginning in my life. Today I actually managed, for the first time in I don't know how long, to get up at 7 a.m. when my first alarm went off. I had been sleeping until almost 1 in the afternoon as of late because I had been staying up until nearly 4 or 5 in the morning. Not good.
So, with this day's early wake up I am going to try and make this a new day and a new beginning. As I write this the blackness of the Alaska sky if starting to turn a deep velvety blue to herald the coming rise of the sun. Behind where I sit the fireplace is just starting to wake up with faint flickers of flame from the kindling brushing at the larger pieces of wood to coax them to burn and spread warmth throughout the house. And in the kitchen I can hear the water on the stove hitting a boil for a second cup of morning cappuccino... think I best get in there and get that.
